Therapy rooted in connection, healing, and hope.
A supportive space for healing, growth, and renewed hope. Together, we can work toward the life you deserve.
About Daniel
I'm Daniel Lozoya, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas who specializes in trauma-informed care for private-pay clients. I work with people who feel stuck, hypervigilant, disconnected, or caught in survival mode—even after trying other therapies.
"Healing happens in the context of safety, attunement, and genuine connection. My role is to create a space where your nervous system can begin to feel safe, where your story is honored, and where you can gradually rediscover your capacity for presence, resilience, and joy."
I work with adults navigating complex trauma, first responders and veterans, LGBTQIA+ clients, immigrants and first-generation families, and children and adolescents. My approach is warm, affirming, and grounded in what neuroscience and clinical research tell us actually transforms trauma.
Trauma & Hypervigilance
If you're still feeling the effects of trauma—hypervigilance, emotional flooding, dissociation, or feeling frozen—despite other therapeutic attempts, specialized trauma work can create real shifts.
Trauma doesn't just live in your mind—it lives in your body and nervous system. You may notice:
- • Constant scanning for danger, even in safe spaces
- • Difficulty trusting, connecting with others, or feeling present
- • Emotional overwhelm, irritability, or numbness
- • Physical tension, sleep issues, or unexplained pain
- • Feeling "stuck" despite years of talk therapy
Through evidence-based trauma processing (EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, attachment work), nervous system regulation (SSP, Rest and Restore), and IFS-informed care, we can help your system understand that you're safe now. You can process what happened without being re-traumatized, and gradually reclaim your capacity for presence and connection.
Who I Work Best With
I specialize in working with diverse populations, each bringing unique strengths and healing needs.
First Responders & Veterans
Occupational trauma, moral injury, and service-related PTSD respond well to clinically informed approaches that honor your experience without clinical jargon. I understand the unique pressures of your work.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy
Complex trauma, identity exploration, and safety concerns are met with full affirmation and understanding. Your experience is centered, validated, and never questioned. You belong here.
Immigrants & First-Generation Clients
Migration trauma, acculturation stress, intergenerational patterns, and complex grief are addressed with cultural humility and understanding of what your whole story carries.
Children & Teens
Anxiety, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, autism-related challenges, and attachment trauma respond beautifully to developmentally-informed work that meets them where they are.
Adults with Severe Trauma
If traditional therapy hasn't helped you process complex trauma or move beyond hypervigilance, specialized approaches like EMDR and trauma-focused work can create profound shifts.
Attachment & Nervous System Healing
Difficulty with trust, connection, and feeling safe in relationships often stems from attachment patterns. We work to create secure attachment and nervous system regulation together.
My Approach
I draw from eight evidence-based, trauma-informed methods tailored to your unique nervous system and healing needs.
EMDR-Trained Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based approach for processing traumatic memories and reducing their emotional intensity. Many clients experience significant shifts in how they relate to their past.
Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT)
DBT skills help you develop practical, concrete tools for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills are taught collaboratively and adapted to your life.
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) & Rest and Restore Protocol
These neuroscience-based listening therapies use specially filtered music to help regulate your nervous system and shift out of survival mode. SSP builds safety and connection; Rest and Restore deepens parasympathetic calm and renewal.
Attachment Trauma Work
Early relational trauma shapes how we trust, connect, and feel safe. We work to understand your attachment patterns, heal relational wounds, and build secure, earned attachment within therapy and your life.
IFS-Informed Care
Internal Family Systems recognizes that we all have multiple "parts" or protective strategies. This approach helps you understand and dialogue with these parts with compassion, releasing patterns that no longer serve you.
Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy
Where clinically appropriate, I integrate psychedelic-assisted approaches into ongoing therapy to support deeper healing and neuroplasticity.
Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT)
Ketamine-assisted therapy can catalyze profound shifts in how you relate to trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and disconnection. When clinically appropriate, I collaborate closely with medical providers to integrate KAT into your healing journey.
Trauma-Informed Foundation
Across all approaches, my practice is grounded in trauma-informed principles: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and cultural humility. Your nervous system, autonomy, and dignity are central to everything we do.
Fees & Insurance
I welcome private-pay clients and offer accessible, specialized trauma care.
Private Pay
I welcome private-pay clients and prioritize working with those who value specialized, trauma-informed care. Private pay provides full clinical flexibility and direct access to comprehensive treatment planning.
For current fee information and details about sliding scale availability, please schedule a free 15-minute consultation or reach out directly.
Limited Insurance Options
I accept a limited number of insurance clients based on availability, plan eligibility, and clinical fit. Insurance panels can sometimes limit the specialized approaches I recommend, so I prioritize clients where my methods align with their coverage.
If you have insurance, let's discuss whether it's a good fit for your care. I'm happy to verify benefits and discuss what specialized treatment looks like.

For people who feel stuck, disconnected, depressed, anxious, hypervigilant, or emotionally shut down—even after traditional therapy. KAP may help catalyze healing when combined with compassionate, specialized therapeutic support.
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines medically supervised ketamine treatment with psychotherapy to support clients navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment wounds, grief, and nervous system dysregulation. I provide comprehensive therapeutic support—preparation before sessions, direct support during your experience, and integration work afterward—in partnership with Hara Health Center in Austin.
Important clarification: I do not independently prescribe or administer ketamine. Medical evaluation, prescribing, dosing, and medical supervision are handled by Hara Health Center's qualified medical providers when clinically appropriate. My role is to provide expert therapeutic support that amplifies and integrates the neuroplastic shifts ketamine may catalyze.

Therapeutic Support
I provide direct therapeutic support during your ketamine sessions (as coordinated with Hara Health Center) and integrate insights, openings, and shifts into your ongoing healing work.

- Complex trauma and PTSD that hasn't fully responded to traditional therapy
- Treatment-resistant depression and anxiety
